Problem Statement
01
Scattered tickets, confusing attachments, and the difficulty of sharing tickets – these frustrations fueled the tickets wallet app. As a designer with firsthand experience on the operations team, I saw the pain points across all demographics, especially those less tech-savvy.
Ticket Scatter and Confusion
Guiding users to their tickets often involved deciphering forgotten passwords, exploring email inboxes, and navigating downloaded files. Some, unable to log in to their emails, faced barriers from the get-go. Even accessing the event website for mobile downloads proved challenging for others. Downloaded tickets became lost in the maze of phone folders, creating further delays and anxieties.
The Chaoes of Sharing and Managing Tickets
Group ticket purchases presented their own set of problems. Sharing a single PDF meant exposing all attached tickets, compromising privacy. Screenshots offered an insecure and inconvenient alternative. But perhaps the most significant pain point was the lack of usage tracking. A lot of times, users were unsure if their tickets were unused, or even legitimate or not, leading to entry delays and frustration. Witnessing these struggles firsthand drove home the need for a centralized solution that catered to everyone, regardless of their technical expertise.
This is an illustration of the previous method where customers retrieved their tickets. They'd get a message in the email tied to their purchase, containing a PDF ticket.
Users and Audience
02
The Hala Yalla Tickets Wallet App isn't just for the tech-averse! While my personal experience with less tech-savvy users at events undeniably highlighted their struggles, the app's target audience is much broader. It caters to anyone who enjoys attending events and wants a seamless, centralized platform for managing their tickets.
Scope and constraints
03
Time was our biggest challenge. With just 2 days to deliver designs to developers before the app's crucial launch, the project demanded laser focus and strategic prioritization. While the initial scope envisioned an expansive feature set, we swiftly adapted, identifying core functionalities that could be delivered within the tight timeframe.
Balancing ambition with feasibility, we successfully streamlined the design, ensuring a user-friendly experience without compromising key functionalities. This fast-paced environment pushed our team to be resourceful and innovative, ultimately proving that even under extreme constraints, exceptional design solutions can be achieved.
Design
04
To craft an exceptional user experience, we prioritized simplifying the login/signup process. We deconstructed it into straightforward steps, eliminating the necessity for users to navigate through conventional sign-up forms or remember passwords.
In response to the challenge of users navigating multiple event websites, we devised a comprehensive solution: a unified platform. By consolidating information from various event sources, this innovative approach created a centralized hub for all event needs. The unified platform streamlines event discovery and offers direct booking links, simplifying the user experience and saving time.
In response to the challenge of PDF ticket attachments in emails, we introduced a dedicated “My Tickets” section in the app. This feature enables users to conveniently access their digital tickets, presenting all relevant details in an organized manner. By doing so, we significantly reduce the dependency on email access for ticket retrieval, streamlining the user experience and mitigating challenges associated with email-based ticket distribution.
To combat rising ticket fraud, we implemented robust security measures. Our solution involved concealing QR codes until event time or specific geolocation criteria were met. This approach enhanced security and controlled ticket distribution, allowing users to send and receive only unused tickets within the app. A more secure and trustworthy ticketing system was the result.

Since launch, the Hala Yalla Tickets Wallet App has received positive feedback and achieved impressive results:
Thousands of downloads: Demonstrating significant user adoption and interest in the app.
Positive user reviews: Emphasizing the app's convenience, ease of use, and improved event experience.
Streamlined event management: Organizers benefit from efficient ticket distribution, reduced inquiries, and improved access control.
Reduced ticket-related issues: Fewer lost or forgotten tickets, minimized fraudulent activities, and smoother entry processes.
Using the app as a white-label solution: We were able to adjust the app, and change some things so it serves as a fully white-labeled solution to other brands.
Our journey of improving the Hala Yalla Tickets Wallet App doesn't end here. We're currently exploring two exciting features:
All-in-One Event Experience: Seamlessly browse and purchase tickets for all Hala Yalla events directly within the app. No more platform hopping, just convenient event discovery and ticketing in one place.
Secure Ticket Resale: A secure, in-app marketplace lets users officially resell unused tickets to interested buyers. We'll handle transactions and transfers, ensuring a safe and convenient experience for everyone.
These additions aim to make the Hala Yalla Tickets Wallet App the ultimate event companion, offering complete control and flexibility for users and organizers alike. Stay tuned as we reshape the event experience in Saudi Arabia!
